Course Reserves

Information for Faculty and Student

Course Reserves

Course reserve is a term used in academic libraries to describe materials set aside for a specific academic course or other use. Most often materials are put on course reserve by library staffs at the request of the course's instructor. Materials on reserve typically have shorter loan periods than other library materials to allow access to a high volume of library patrons.

HKUST(GZ) Library provides Course Reserves to support faculty instruction for students in specific courses. Course materials (i.e., print books) with yellow spine label stickers are available on shelves near the Library "Ask Us Desk" at 2nd Floor. Readers are welcome to loan course reserves for 3 hours/24 hours for one time.

Physical Reserves

All Physical Course Reserves are all kept in the room beside Front Desk (2nd Floor). You can go directly to the second floor, asking the librarians to help you to find the book you need.

E-Reserves

Students can access reserve materials, such as e-books, e-journal articles, e-lecture notes, 24 hours a day through the campus network, regardless of library opening hours or the availability of materials. Click on internet link if the status of the bibliographic record is “online access”.
